NRI Ghar

The short version: the app collects nothing. It has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics, and it makes no network calls of its own. Everything you put into it stays on your device. This website is separate, and the section about it below is precise about what your browser sends when you read this page.
Nothing. NRI Ghar does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. The app makes no network calls of its own.
There is one exception, and it happens only when you choose it. If you tap a link to an official government source, that link opens in your browser. From that moment you are on the government website and their privacy practices apply. The app itself sends nothing, and it is not told whether you followed the link.
Everything you add to NRI Ghar, including documents, dates, notes, and reminders, is stored on your device only. It is protected by iOS Data Protection, the file-level encryption built into your iPhone.
We cannot see your data. We have no servers, so there is nowhere for it to go.
If you lock the app with Face ID or Touch ID, the matching is done entirely by iOS. The app never sees your biometric data. It only learns whether the unlock succeeded.
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They are sent to no one and pass through no server.
Your data is included only in your own device backups, for example an iCloud backup or an encrypted backup on your computer. Those backups are yours and are managed by Apple and your own settings, not by us. If you delete the app, its data on the device goes with it.
These pages are static. There is no JavaScript, no analytics, no embedded content from anyone else, and we set no cookies of our own. As configured today the site sets no Cloudflare cookies either.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare acts as our processor under Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum, which is incorporated into our agreement with them. We are the controller for this processing, so it is our responsibility and not something we can pass off to Cloudflare.
To deliver a page, Cloudflare necessarily receives and logs technical request data: your IP address, the address you requested, your browser user-agent string and other request headers, and the date and time. Cloudflare also instructs your browser to report network errors back to Cloudflare. That instruction is stored by your browser for seven days, and nothing is reported unless a request fails.
Legal basis. Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interests. Those interests are making the site available at all and protecting it from attack and abuse. We do not profile visitors and we have no access to individual-level logs for this site.
Retention. Cloudflare does not publish a fixed period. Under its addendum, data is kept until the earlier of the end of our agreement or the point at which the processing is no longer needed to provide the service.
Transfers outside the EEA. Cloudflare is established in the United States and operates a global network. Transfers rely on the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (Implementing Decision 2021/914), and additionally on Cloudflare's certification under the EU to US Data Privacy Framework. Ask us at nl.chetanpotdar@gmail.com for a copy of the safeguards. Cloudflare's EU-only data localisation is an enterprise option we do not have, so we cannot promise that request data stays inside the EEA.
Sub-processors. Cloudflare publishes its sub-processor list. The ones relevant to the platform this site runs on are Google LLC and Oracle America, Inc.
If you email us, we hold your message and your address for as long as we need to answer you and keep a record of the exchange.
There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to. We store nothing on your device for our own purposes.
Because the app collects nothing, in almost every case there is no personal data of yours for us to access, correct, export, or erase. Where you have emailed us, you can ask for a copy of that correspondence or ask us to delete it.
For the website logging described above you also have the right to object under Article 21 GDPR, as well as rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability so far as they apply.
If you are in the EU or the UK and you think we have handled personal data wrongly, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. We would rather you told us first at nl.chetanpotdar@gmail.com, so we can put it right.
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
NRI Ghar is meant for adults managing their own paperwork, and our terms set a minimum age of 16. The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly handle information about anyone, of any age. Because the app collects nothing, there is no data about children, or anyone else, for us to hold.
If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above. Because the app works offline, a change of policy can never quietly change what the app does. The app has no way to send data anywhere.
